NAVI MUMBAI: Mora police station in Uran was attacked by a mob on Friday, after cops pulled the plug on dandiya celebrations that went on until 2.30am. The cops arrested two men, Pritam Koli (35) and Dinesh Koli (19), in connection to the event.
The revelers were allegedly upset that that the police decided to play spoilsport and confronted them. Cops said that some of the men may have been drunk.
The organizers and participants tried to plead their case but the police insisted that they had crossed the midnight deadline and the party had to stop.

This reportedly angered a group of people and they attacked the five-man team. Some of them hurled stones at the police and four of the cops on duty sustained minor injuries. They also pelted the police station with stones.
“So far, we have arrested two men in this case and believe 16 more could be involved,” said Shashikant Borate, ACP. On Friday, cops carried out intensive patrolling at the village. “We are taking this matter seriously. If people starts misbehaving with police, then there can be a law and order problem in the area,” said an officer.
